PROFILE OF DIRECTOR OF PRISONS
Mr. Patrick Darko Missah
DOP Patrick Missah was commissioned into the Ghana Prisons Service superior corp in April 1989 as an Assistant
Superintendent of Prisons (ASP) and through dedication and hard work, has risen steadily to his current rank,
Deputy Controller of Prisons,
He also holds a Master of Philosophy in Agricultural Extension from the University of Ghana, Legon (2009).
In his determination and continues increase in his academic and professional horizon, DCOP Missah attended many courses and training programmes
which include: Senior Management Development Course- GIMPA (2009), Post Graduate Diploma in Agricultural Administration, GIMPA (2006), Certificate in
Agricultural Administration, GIMPA (1997) and other seminars and conferences both national and international.
DOP Missah during the course of his career also has held various command positions and staff appointments. He was the Officer-In-Charge, Agric
Unit at the Medium Security Prison - Nsawam (1989-1991), He became the Chief Agric Officer, Headquarters Agric Unit (2002-2006).
He was also appointed Officer-In-Charge of James Camp Prisons, Accra. He was the Western Regional Commander of the Ghana Prisons Service and
the Officer-In-Charge of Sekondi Central Prisons. Until his appointment as Director of Prisons in charge of Finance and Administration, he was a Correctional Adviser to the United Nations operations abroad (UNAMID-Sudan).
DOP Missah, during his service has the following medals to his credit: Medal for 50th Independence Anniversary of Ghana, Peace keeping Operations-UNAMID, Long-service and Good conduct Ghana Prison, June Fourth.
