The Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Alhajj Maulvi Muhammed Bin Salih
paid a familiarization visit to the Director-General of the Ghana Prisons
Service, Madam Matilda Baffour-Awuah at the Prisons Headquarters in Accra.
According to the personal assistant of His Eminence, Maulvi N.A Cheema,
the visit was to officially introduce their father as the new Head of the Ahmadiyya
Muslim Mission in Ghana to the Director-General and to solidify the already existing
cordial relationship between the two institutions.
Speaking on the visit, Alhajj Maulvi Muhammed Bin Salih said he appreciated the great moral quality showed them by the Controller-General of the Prisons Service and some officers after the demise of their former leader Maulvi Wahab Adam. He also thanked the Service and expressed his heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission to the Ghana Prisons Service.
He said, ‘I know Maulvi Wahab Adam was also close to the officers as well as many people in the country. We also wish to keep the tradition going by doing same and continue with his works.’
The Director-General of Prisons, Madam Matilda Baffuor-Awuah congratulated Alhajj Maulvi Muhammed Bin Salih on his confirmation as the new Amir. She also spoke of being humbled by the Amir’s visit and felt encouraged to strengthen the cordial relationship between the Ghana Prisons Service and the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission in Ghana. She finally thanked the Amir for taking time off his busy schedule to visit the Prisons Service.
Alhajj Maulvi Muhammed Bin Salih donated two books titled “World Crisis And The Pathway To Peace”, “Philosophy And Teachings Of Islam” and The Holy Quran on behalf of all Ahmadis in Ghana to the Controller-General .He ended by expressing hope that the books would serve as a guide and inspiration to the Controller-General throughout her career and thereafter.
