Picture: Sgt Frank Tutu.Emmanuel Adjei Outreach Ministries, a religious organization based in Texas, United States of America, has made a cheque donation of GH₵5,000.00 to Project ‘Efiase’ of the Ghana Prisons Service to support the upkeep of inmates.
Making the donation at the Prisons Headquarters in Accra recently, the leader of the Ministries, Prophet Emmanuel Adjei, said the donation was proceeds from his Jericho Outreach programme to support Project ‘Efiase’ in its bid to improve upon the living standards of prisoners.
The Chairman of the Prisons Service Council, Reverend Dr. Stephen Wengam, in gratitude received the cheque on behalf of the Service, and appealed to the Prophet to adopt one of the forty-three (43) Prisons establishments in the country to help improve upon their deplorable state.
Additionally, the Director of Prisons in charge of Welfare, Mrs. Josephine Fredua-Agyemang, asked for assistance for the completion of a Vocational Training Centre for inmates at the Amanfrom Settlement Camp Prison in the Ashanti Region, which was was started through the efforts of officers at the station.
Also present at the donation were Mr. Emmanuel Yao Adzator , the Acting Director-General of Prisons; Mr. Samuel Amankwah, Prisons desk officer at the Ministry of Interior; and other members of the Prisons Directorate.
