Dr. Francis Omane-Addo, was born on the 9th October, 1968. He is a Ghanaian Prisons Officer with over 28 years working experience in the Ghana Prisons Service.
He was enlisted into the Ghana Prisons Service on 5th December, 1995 and was commissioned on 5th July, 1996. He has a wide range of experience at both National and International levels.
Prior to his current position, he was the Director of Prisons in charge of Technical. He has also served as Director of Prisons for Welfare and Human Resource Development, and also acted as Director in charge of Agriculture.
He has held several command positions including Commanding Officer at the Prisons Headquarters, Head of Planning, Research, Monitoring and Evaluation unit at Prisons Headquarters, Chief Criminal Records Officer at the Prisons Headquarters, Deputy Regional Commander Ashanti Region, Regional Agricultural Officer in the Northern Sector of Ghana, Officer-in-Charge at the Awutu Camp Prison and the Deputy Chief Agricultural Officer at the Prisons Headquarters.
On the International front, he has held the positions of Corrections Policy Advisor and Mentor at the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL), the Project Manager of World Bank Liberian Youth Employment and Skills Training project (YES Project) with Landmine Action-a British NGO in Liberia, Project Manager/ Acting Country Director- Armed Violence Reduction Production with Action on Armed Violence- a British NGO for both Liberia and Sierra Leone and the Project Coordinator- Food Aid and Food Security- with ZOA- Liberia- a Netherlands NGO under the Ebola Recovery Programme.
Dr. Omane-Addo holds a Doctorate Degree (PhD) in Governance and Leadership, a Professional Doctorate in Project Management, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Corporate Governance from the KNUST, a Master of Science degree in Defense and International Politics from Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Master of Arts degree in Agriculture from the University of Ghana, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and an Advance Executive Certificate in Security Management, Forensic and Investigative Psychology from Wisconsin University College.
He is a member of Distinguish Fellow- Project Management Professional (PMP), Ghana Association of Agricultural Economists and International Corrections and Prisons Association, and Chartered Institute of Corporate Governance, Executive Leadership and Organizational Development.
He is currently the Principal Officer and Head of African Correctional Services Association (ASCA), at the Permanent secretariat.
He is married with four children.
