Director of Prisons/Finance

Mr. Samuel Adjei-Attah was born on 18th December, 1963. He is an astute Ghanaian Prisons Officer with 28 years working experience in different sectors of corrections management.

He was enlisted into the Ghana Prison Service on the 1st of December, 1995 as an officer cadet and successfully commissioned as an Assistant Superintendent of Prison (ASP) on 5th July, 1996.

Until his appointment as a Director of Finance, he was the Director in charge of Health. He has also served as the Greater Accra Regional Commander and the Commandant of the Prisons Officers’ Training School in Accra. He also held various command positions in several prisons establishments including Upper West Regional Commander and Officer-In-Charge of Wa Central Prisons, Deputy Western Regional Commander, Officer-In-Charge of Winneba Local Prison, Officer in Charge of Frafraha Camp Prison and Deputy Commandant of Prisons Officers’ Training School. Others include Second in Command and later became the Officer-In-Charge of James Camp Prison, Second in Command and later became the Officer in Charge of Ankaful Contagious Disease Prison and Welfare Officer at Nsawam Medium Security Prisons.

DOP Adjei-Attah holds a Master’s Degree in Human Rights from the University of Education, Winneba, a Post Graduate Certificate in Public Administration from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, Master of Science in Defense and International Politics from Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology.

He is a proud product of Mfantsipim Senior High School.                    

On the International front, he served as a Corrections Officer at United Nations Missions in Darfur (UNAMID) where he mentored at Shallah Federal Prison, Kutum Prison, Shallah Juvenal Home and Kheir Khanaga Women Prison.

Mr. Samuel Adjei-Attah enjoys reading, and football. He is married and blessed with four children.
