Director of Prisons in charge of Human Resource, Mr. Ernest Asante Adofo is a seasoned Prison Officer with close to three decades experience in prisons management. He joined the Ghana Prisons Service on 6th August, 1992.
Before his appointment as the Director of Prisons, he was the Eastern Regional Commander and Officer in Charge at the Nsawam Medium Security Prisons. He also held various managerial and Command positions including serving as the Western Regional Commander and the Officer-In-Charge at Sekondi Central Prison, Officer-in-Charge at Obuasi Local Prison, Deputy Regional Commander at the Sunyani Central Prison and the Officer-In-Charge at Manhyia Local Prison. He has also served as Officer-in- Charge at the Ahinsan Camp Prison and head of Technical Services at both the Ankaful Main Camp Prison and Nsawam Medium Security prisons.
DOP Asante Adofo holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and a Construction Technician Certificate part I and II from the City and Guild London Institute.
As a means of carving an enviable niche in his professional career, he gained more knowledge in several training, seminar and career development programmes which include Certificate in Project Management, UNICEF Training Programme on Children Acts of Ghana, Certificate in General Construction from the City and Guild of London Institute, Certificate in Technical Reporting, Ghana Institute of Surveyors, Certificate in Administration and Management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
Mr. Asante Adofo is a certified member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Ghana and the Ghana Institute of Incorporated Engineers.
His interests are counselling, watching documentaries and playing basketball.
