The Ghana Prison Service, as a back-up to Ghana's criminal justice system, contributes to the maintenance of internal security by maintaining an effective, humane and secure penal reform system governed by the laws of Ghana. We believe in humanity, vigilance, courage and integrity while helping to reintegrate ex-prisoners into society.
