DIRECTOR GENERAL OF PRISONS LAUNCHES “THINK PRISONS 360 DEGREES IN TAMALE”.
The Director General of Prisons(DGP), Mrs. Patience Baffoe-Bonnie(ESQ) has today, Wednesday September 3, 2025 launched the flagship initiative of the Ghana Prisons Service, “Think Prisons 360 Degrees”, after a successful four(4) day duty tour in the Savannah, North East and Northern regions.

Launching the initiative at the Tamale Central Prisons, Mrs. Baffoe-Bonnie(ESQ) hinted at new strategic efforts to rebrand the Service, enhance officers and inmates welfare by providing state of the art accommodations, mechanization of prisons agriculture, establishment of an Industrial Hub for the manufacturing of large scale furniture works, pavement blocks and paper products.
DGP. Patience Baffoe-Bonnie(ESQ) made a passionate appeal to the public to patronize prison products and contribute to the reformation and rehabilitation of inmates.
The reset agenda also aims at modernizing the admimistrative set up and security systems, waste management solutions and leveraging partnerships.

As part of activities to mark the mini launch in Tamale, the Director General of Prisons interacted with officers of the Tamale Central and Female Prisons on the new strategic reforms and government support initiatives that seek to empower the Prisons Service to better perform its mandate.
She called on the paramount chief of Tamale, Gukpe Naa Alhaji Alhassan Abdulai, after the launch to express her gratitude for his constant assistance to the prison community in Tamale.
The launch was graced by representatives from the Regional Coordinating Council, Legal Aid and Civil Society Organizations including BasicNeeds- Ghana, Tolec, CSD Reforms, and the Coalition of Prison Evangelists Gh. (COPE).
In their brief remarks, all representatives expressed commitment and support to the “Think Prisons 360 Degrees” initiative.
