PRISONS SERVICE DONATES TO GHANA HEART FOUNDATION
The Ghana Prisons Service has today,the 21st of March,2023 presented a cheque donation of five thousand cedis (¢5000) to the Ghana Heart Foundation.
The donation is an annual activity by the Prisons Service to financially support patients who require heart surgeries at the Cardiothoracic Centre at the Korle- Bu Teaching. Patients of the Centre have benefited from the support of the Prisons Service for close to a decade.
The cheque was presented by the Director of Prisons in charge of Welfare, (DOP.) Joana Fofo Tackie – Otoo (Mrs.) on behalf of the Director General of Prisons (DGP.) Mr. Isaac Kofi Egyir at the Prisons Headquarters in Accra.She stated that, the Prisons Service is excited and willing to contribute it’s quota towards the surgeries of patients at the Centre who need financial assistance.
Receiving the cheque on behalf of the Ghana Heart Foundation, Madam Anastasia Himans expressed her profound gratitude to the Prisons Service for the consistent financial support over the years even during the COVID-19 pandemic when some organisations held back their support to the Foundation.
