11 NSAWAM FEMALE INMATES SIT NVTI EXAMS

The Nsawam Female Prison on Wednesday, 1st July 2026 sat for the the National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) Proficiency I, Grade II examinations, demonstrating the Ghana Prisons Service’s commitment to rehabilitation through vocational skills development.

The candidates comprise eight inmates in tailoring, one in tie and dye, one in bead designing, and one in event decoration.

The examinations provide the inmates with an opportunity to earn nationally recognised certificates in their respective trades, enhancing their employability and equipping them with practical skills for self-reliance upon release.

The Administration reaffirmed its commitment to creating opportunities that promote education, skills acquisition and personal development. It also wished the candidates success in their examinations and expressed confidence in their ability to excel.

The initiative forms part of the Service’s broader rehabilitation agenda aimed at preparing inmates for successful reintegration into society.
