YOUTH AND CRIME CAMPAIGN-SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF MAMPONG AKROPONG
The Ghana Prisons Service on Wednesday 14th February 2024, sensitized the students of school for the Deaf at Mampong-Akropong, in the Eastern Region. The students were taken through the causes and dangers associated with crime, emphasizing that anyone could end up incarcerated if their actions harmed others or violated social norms.
It was an exciting moment for the students as they also expressed their sentiments and outlined some challenges they encounter when they come into contact with some security officers.
“The Security Services such as the Police and Prisons must consider recruiting some of us into the Service so that we can assist our brothers and sisters who are sometimes wrongly accused by these officers. We can write perfectly and believe we could also assist in some investigation for our people” a student (name withheld) shared with the Prisons Media team.
