DEPUTY CHIEF OF STAFF(ADMINISTRATION) MARKS 60TH BIRTHDAY WITH INMATES OF THE SENIOR CORRECTIONAL CENTRE

The Deputy Chief of Staff(Administration) and renowned human rights advocate, Hon. Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, commemorated her 60th Birthday on Saturday, 7th February 2026, by spending quality time with juveniles of the Senior Correctional Centre, reaffirming her life long commitment to service, justice, and social inclusion.

As part of activities marking the milestone celebration, Hon. Nana Oye Bampoe Addo shared memorable moments with juveniles and young offenders at the Centre, underscoring her belief that, personal milestones are best celebrated through service to others. She emphasized that true national progress is measured by how society treats its most vulnerable members.

Addressing the juveniles, she encouraged them to remain hopeful, resilient, and determined, stressing that their current circumstances should not define or end their dreams.

She reaffirmed her commitment to using the law as a tool for liberation, rehabilitation, and national development, particularly for young people who find themselves on the other side of the law.

In further demonstration of her compassion and dedication, Hon. Nana Oye Bampoe Addo made donations to support the welfare of the Centre and organized a free eye care exercise for the inmates and officers. She also commended the Officer-in-Charge(OIC), officers, and juveniles of the Centre for the warm reception accorded her and her team.

In a welcome address, the Officer-in-Charge(OIC) of the Centre, DDP. Yayra Ashong Mettle(Mrs.) expressed profound appreciation to Hon. Nana Oye Bampoe Addo and her delegation for choosing to spend such a significant personal milestone with inmates of the Centre. She described the visit as inspiring, and uplifting, noting that it had a positive impact on both inmates and staff.

The visit highlighted Hon. Nana Oye Bampoe Addo’s enduring advocacy for human rights, rehabilitation, and inclusive development, and served as a powerful reminder that compassion and service remain central to meaningful leadership.
