PRISON OFFICERS HONOURED AT HEROES OF THE REGION CONFERENCE IN EASTERN REGION

Officers of the Ghana Prisons Service were among several distinguished personalities honoured at the Heroes of the Region Conference held in the Eastern Region for their exceptional service, dedication and contribution to national development.

During the programme, DDP Patrick Thomas Seidu delivered a presentation on the “Think Prison 360°” initiative, highlighting key reforms and rehabilitation programmes within the Ghana Prisons Service. He spoke on issues of overcrowding, officers’ welfare, mechanised agriculture, industrialisation, inmate education, entrepreneurship training and psychosocial rehabilitation activities aimed at transforming inmates into productive members of society.

A major highlight of the night was the presentation of awards to deserving personalities across various sectors. DDP Patrick Thomas Seidu was honoured with the Most Innovative Commander of the Year award.

Also, DDP Victoria Adzewodah received the Female Prisons Officer of the Year award, while ADP Diabor Adam Mahama was awarded Male Prisons Officer of the Year.

In addition, ADP Beatrice Aseidu was honoured as Female Prisons Officer of the Year, CSP Nii Jonathan received the Male Prisons Officer of the Year award, and DSP Frederick Nsanyani was recognised as Administrator of the Year.

Addressing participants, the Chief Executive Officer of Windows Connect Africa, Prince Berchie Antwi, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to supporting widows and vulnerable persons within society while recognising individuals whose hard work and dedication continue to inspire others.

The event ended on a high note with a renewed call for professionalism, dedication and service to humanity, as organisers emphasised the importance of recognising excellence and honouring individuals contributing positively to national growth and development.
