18 INMATES GRADUATES FROM RABONI BIBLE SCHOOL IN HO

18 inmates From the Ho Central Prison on Thursday 29th August , 2024 graduated from the RABONI BIBLE SCHOOL in Ho. The graduands are the 7th batch of Bible students who successfully graduated from the school since it’s inception some nine years ago.

The school which was founded by Rev./ Mrs Quagraine and Rev. K. Essibery – Annan as the President, runs a one year Certificate and 2 years Diploma courses for the students.

Rev. Godwin Senanu who is the Volta Regional Director of the school mentioned that the school started under DDP. Nii Boi Tagoe (RTD) who was the then Volta Regional Commander. He said the current faculty of the school is made up of five ordained men of God who laboured selflessly and diligently to transform the inmates.

Rev. Senanu appealed to the Prison authorities to allow the female inmates of Ho Female Prison to also have the opportunity of enrolling in the school. He also appealed to the general public and benevolent organizations to come to the aid of the prisons expecially in championing programs like this.

In all ten students were awarded with Certificates with one student emerging with a distinction, and eight others were awarded with Diploma. The Diploma course had one student with distinction and was also adjudged the overall best student .

In an address given by Assistant Director of Prisons (ADP). Francis Akakpo Dotsey who is the Second in Command of the Ho Central Prison on behalf of the Director General of Prisons and the Regional Commander, thanked the founders and the directors of the RABONI Bible School for their support in the reformation process of the inmates.

ADP. Dotsey said one of the core mandates of the Prisons Service is reformation of inmates and that the training of instilling the love for humanity and the fear of God through the courses was commendable by the School. He encouraged the inmates(graduands) to live an exemplary life whilst in custody and when on discharge.

ADP. Francis Akakpo Dotsey also urged the relatives of the inmates present at the ceremony to support and accept them back when they are discharged from prison custody into the various families and the society as a whole devoid of any stigmatization . He appealed to the inmates to take advantage of the opportunity to join the next batch of students.

Present at the ceremony were the Regional PRO Superintendent David N. Apusigah and the Regional Chaplain, Rev. ASP. Courage Atsu .
