GHANA PRISONS SERVICE PARTICIPATES IN NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER AND THANKSGIVING
The Ghana Prisons Service participated in the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving on Wednesday, 1st July 2026, at the State House under the theme, “Resetting Our Values to Build the Ghana We Want.”
The event brought together key stakeholders, clergy, heads of the security services, traditional leaders, government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, leaders of the creative arts industry, and other citizens. The national observance provided an opportunity for Ghanaians to reflect on the principles and values that define and shape the nation, while expressing gratitude to Almighty God for His goodness and abundant blessings.
In his address, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama highlighted the need for the nation to acknowledge God’s role in Ghana’s progress, pray for the country’s leaders and people, and renew a shared commitment to national unity, peace, and development. He noted that lasting national progress is achieved when the nation seeks God’s guidance and works together in unity to build a prosperous Ghana.
The participation of the Ghana Prisons Service underscores the Service’s commitment to fostering partnerships with faith-based organisations in advancing its core mandate of safe custody, rehabilitation, and the successful reintegration of inmates into society.
