DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF PRISONS GRACES IMAGE OF A WOMAN CONFERENCE AND BOOK LAUNCH
The Director-General of Prisons, Mrs. Patience Baffoe-Bonnie, Esq., on Saturday, 22 August 2026, attended the Image of a Woman Conference and Book Launch held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Accra.
Speaking at the conference, the Director-General encouraged women to not only challenge stereotypes imposed by society but also reflect on how they may unknowingly perpetuate some of these stereotypes themselves.
She also highlighted the Service’s transformative agenda, which goes beyond the provision of vocational training to establishing a comprehensive rehabilitation and economic reintegration system that equips inmates with the skills, opportunities and support needed to successfully rebuild their lives.
The programme ended with a call to women to believe in themselves, break limiting stereotypes, embrace their potential and remain committed to creating positive change in their families, workplaces and communities.
