SUNYANI FEMALE PRISON HOLDS 3-WEEK VOCATIONAL TRAINING FOR INMATES.

Ten inmates of the Sunyani Female Prison have completed a three-week vocational skills training aimed at enhancing their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

The programme, organized in collaboration with Ruby Bakehouse, Bliss and Glams, focused on practical, income-generating skills.

In pastry making, which was facilitated by Ruby Bakehouse, participants were trained in the preparation of chips, ring doughnuts and other baked and fried confections through hands-on demonstrations and practical sessions.

Concurrently, Bliss and Glams took inmates through hair and wig making, including techniques for fixing frontals and ponytails to equip them for the growing beauty industry.

The Officer in Charge expressed appreciation to Ruby Mahama of Ruby Bakehouse and Dorcas Mensah of Bliss and Glams for their support towards the Ghana Prisons Service’s rehabilitation mandate.

The facilitators explained that, the training is part of ongoing efforts to equip inmates with employable skills for self-employment after release.
