MEMORIAL DAY
The Ghana Prisons Service has held a Memorial Service in honour of officers who lost their lives in line of duty to their country.
The ceremony took place last Friday at the Prisons Interdenominational Church, Cantonments in Accra.
It was attended by officers drawn from the Prisons Headquarters, James Camp Prison, Senior Correctional Centre and the Prisons Officers Training School (POTS).
Present were the Director of Prisons in charge of Technical; Dr. Francis Omane-Addo, the Director of Prisons in charge of Agriculture; Mr. Hanson Adu-Awuku, the Greater Accra Regional Commander; DDP. Edward Fiifi Acquah and the Chaplain-General of the Prisons Service; Rev. Canon ADP. Selwyn S. Adama-Okine, who officiated the ceremony.
The rest were the Officer in charge of the Senior Correctional Centre; DDP. Millicent Owusu, the Chief Legal Officer of the Service; DDP. Paul Ademan; the head of Operations; DDP. Francis Selorm Hagbe and the Deputy Commandant of POTS, ADP. Isaac Abuaku- Ameyaw.
Also in attendance were the families of the fallen officers.
