WA PRISON ENGAGE WA FIRE SERVICE IN A FRIENDLY VOLLEYBALL MATCH
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Wa volleyball team, The Extinguishers,had a friendly match against Wa Central Prison The Reformers on September 27, 2024, at the Wa Central Prison Canteen. The ADO I Atow-Ridwan led side humbled their Prison counterparts with a convincing 2-1 victory, showcasing impressive teamwork and stamina despite the massive supports from the home side.
The Regional Commander/OIC of Wa Central Prison, ADP. James B. Mwinyelle, emphasized that the friendly match aims to strengthen the relationship between the two state security institutions and promote physical and mental fitness among officers.
On his part, the Regional Commander of the GNFS, AFCO. II Isaac Kofi Oboso, also encouraged fair play, praising the Prisons Command initiative.
Also in attendance to grace the occasion were some senior officers from Wa Prison and Fire Services.
The thrilling volleyball match was accompanied by other indoor games like draught, Ludo and Ampe for the female officers.
The GNFS Coach, ADO II Timothy Ayireke, attributed their win to teamwork and determination, while Wa Central Prison Coach, ASP. Thomas Possible Bapule, congratulated the winning team and vowed to work on weaknesses for future matches.
In a heartwarming declaration, ADO II Timothy Ayireke announced UNITY as the winner of the games!
