PRISONS SERVICE COUNCIL MEETS THE LEADERSHIP OF GHANA PENTECOSTAL AND CHARISMATIC COUNCIL
The Prison Service Council, led by he Chairman, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi, together with the Director-General of Prisons, Mrs. Patience Baffoe-Bonnie Esq., Service Council Members, and Directors of the Ghana Prisons Service, held a meeting with the leadership of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) on 3rd February, 2026 at the Pentecost Convention Centre.
In her address, the Director-General highlighted the “Think Prisons 360” Initiative, a comprehensive reform agenda aimed at improving the welfare of officers and enhancing institutional efficiency. Key components of the initiative include Welfare of officers and Inmates, Agric Mechanization, Industrialization, Business and Wealth creation, Special initiatives and Interventions
She further spoke on the Prisons Improvement and Sustainability Pesewa Fund (PISPES) and appealed to Ghanaians to support the initiative, describing it as a positive and sustainable approach to improving prison infrastructure and inmate rehabilitation.
The ”Director General also emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Church and the Ghana Prisons Service, particularly in supporting the reintegration of inmates into society after serving their sentences.
In his remarks, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, President of the GPCC, commended the Ghana Prisons Service for its commitment to inmate reformation and rehabilitation. He assured the Service of the Council’s readiness to support its reform efforts.
The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council concluded the meeting by pledging its support to the Ghana Prisons Service in advancing its reformation and rehabilitation mandate.
