NSAWAM CAMP PRISON HOSTS FAMILY RECONNECTION EVENT.

The Nsawam Camp Prison has successfully hosted the “360 Degrees of Love” family reconnection event, a key part of the Think Prisons 360 Degrees initiative, aimed at strengthening inmate welfare and rehabilitation.

The event brought together senior prison officers including the Eastern Regional Prisons Commander, DDP. Patrick Seidu and the Officer-in-Charge of the Camp facility ADP. Mahama Adam Diabor, officers, family members, and distinguished guests, creating a platform for inmates to reconnect with loved ones and showcase their talents through singing and dancing competitions, all set to the rhythm of the Nsawam Camp Prison Band.

The Officer-in-Charge; ADP. Mahama Adam Diabor, in his opening address, emphasized that the programme was not a mere social interaction, but a practical demonstration of the Think Prisons 360 Degrees initiative designed to shift the narrative beyond the traditional perception that prisons serve as places of punishment.

The event was made possible with support from sponsors including Labadi Beach Hotel, Bel Aqua, Tasty Tom, Kwabena Boakye Asiamah (Arjagurajah), Hebron Prayer Camp, Nana Akuffo Adade III (Ahodwo Nkosuohene), and Blue Skies Ghana Ltd.

Officers of the Nsawam Camp Prison extended gratitude to these partners for their commitment to supporting inmates’ rehabilitation and reintegration.
