MTN GHANA CONDUCTS MEDICAL SCREENING, DONATES CHEMICAL ANALYZER TO SENIOR CORRECTIONAL CENTRE.
Telecommunication network, MTN has conducted medical screening for inmates and officers at the Senior Correctional Centre ( SCC), Accra to improve their health and well-being.
As part of their annual societal interventions, MTN donated a Chemical Analyzer to SCC which aligns to their Corporate Social Responsibility.
Ensuring healthy living among inmates and officers, the health screening exercise included blood pressure, blood sugar, body mass index among others.
Mr Benjamin Kpodo, Senior Manager, Ethics at MTN Ghana said it was a conscious effort to embark on a health screening among inmates and officers to combat some lifestyle diseases.
Also, the Chemical Analyzer according to Mr Kpodo would help in detecting diseases for early detection and treatment.
The team also embarked on a departmental tour at the facility where inmates’ acquire hands-on training as a viable alternative skills for employable means after incarceration.
The Officer in charge of the facility, Deputy Director of Prisons (DDP) Yayra Ashong-Mettle received the donated items and expressed her profound gratitude to MTN Ghana for such a marvelous medical intervention to the Senior Correctional Centre.
