DGP ISAAC EGYIR HONOURED WITH GHANA LEADERSHIP AWARDS
The Director-General of Prisons, Mr. Isaac Kofi Egyir, has received the Executive Achievement Award in recognition of his exemplary leadership role in the areas of Promoting Peace locally and worldwide, from the Ghana Leadership Awards.
The prestigious Award was conferred on him together with the Chief Fire Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service, Mr. Julius Aelebkure Kuunour, on Thursday, at the Prisons Headquarters, Cantonments in Accra. The ceremony was under the theme: Celebrating our Heroes in a Peaceful Ghana One People Working Together.
Presenting the award, the Benkumhene of the Enyan MaimTraditional area, Nana Osofo Saah IV, congratulated Mr. Isaac Egyir for the outstanding performance and his role towards ensuring peace in the prisons which contributes to the peace and stability in the country.
Receiving the award, the Director-General of Prisons expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the awards for the honour bestowed on him and his colleague, the Chief Fire Officer.
‘I am really honoured by the prestigious award which is being presented to me today. I am indeed grateful to God and to the management of Ghana Leadership Awards. I pledge to continue to work tirelessly to promote peace and stability in the country,’ Mr. Egyir said.
The Ghana Leadership Awards, according to the organizers, seeks to recognize the leadership impact of individuals and institutions that have made outstanding differences to the social, business or educational landscapes, employment, innovation, poverty reduction, philanthropic work, building nations and promoting peace locally and worldwide amongst others.
Present at the short ceremony were the Director of Prisons, (DOP) in charge of Welfare and HRD, Mr. Francis Omane Addo; DOP/ Health, Mr. Samuel Adjei Attah and DOP/ Agriculture, Mr. Hanson Adu- Awuku.
