BONO AND AHAFO REGIONAL PRILAS HOLD FUN GAMES
Members of the Bono and Ahafo Regional Prison Ladies Association (PRILAS) on Friday, the 16th of June, 2023 participated in fun games at the Kenyasi Prisons canteen to socialize and foster unity among its members.
The female officers drawn from the Sunyani Central Prison, Sunyani Female Prison, Duayaw Nkwanta Camp Prison and host Kenyasi Camp Prison competed in games such as volleyball, ludu, playing cards, lime and spoon, sack race, filling of bottles, tag of peace and musical chairs.
The Second in Command (2IC) of Kenyasi Camp Prison, Supt. Emmanuel Adu Ghandi, in his welcome address on behalf of the Officer in Charge (OIC), ADP. Andrews Osei said the event will give officers the opportunity to have fun, socialize and also renew acquaintances.
Supt. Adu Ghandi wished all participating stations the best of luck and declared the best team wins.
The Officer in Charge(OIC) of Sunyani Female Prisons and Regional President of PRILAS, Supt. Mary Asante Sarfo (Mrs.) in her opening remarks thanked the Almighty God for successfully bringing members of the association together under one umbrella.
She mentioned that, the aim of the event is to exercise, promote unity and fraternize among themselves to release stress while also engaging in healthy sporting competitions.
Supt. Sarfo entreated officers present to get involved and fully participate in the fun games so as to make it enjoyable and memorable.
She advised officers to use the event as a platform to foster unity, forge ahead and work together for a better future.
Mrs. Sarfo acknowledged the efforts and enormous show of support from the Regional commander, DDP. Williams Kulah in making the event a reality.
At the end of the various games, the Sunyani Female Prison chapter of PRILAS, emerged winners in four competitions namely volleyball, filling of bottles, musical chairs and sack race while Sunyani Central Prison PRILAS won the Lime and spoon race.
The ludu and playing cards competitions were won by the host station Kenyasi Camp Prison PRILAS while Duayaw Nkwanta Camp Prison PRILAS members emerged the overall best in the Tag of Peace competition.
