PRISONS HANDBALL TEAM DEFEATS TOGO’S AKOA SPORTS IN FRIENDLY.
The Ghana Prisons Service Handball team(Reformers) on Monday, August 10, 2026 defeated Togo’s Akoa Sports Handball team 35–30 in a keenly contested friendly match at the Prisons Handball Court in Accra.
Leading the outstanding performance for the Prisons team was Lance Corporal(L/Cpl) Emmanuel Asare, whose exceptional display contributed significantly to the team’s victory.
Speaking after the match, the head coach of the Prisons handball team, Chief Officer Bermah Yahaya, commended the players for their performance and expressed satisfaction with the outcome.
In a separate encounter earlier in the morning, the Prisons Ladies’ Handball team also secured a convincing 27-goal victory over Cantonments Youth Handball team.
The friendly matches provided an opportunity for the teams to assess their performance, strengthen team cohesion and gain valuable match experience.
