GMA DONATES MEDICAL SUPPLIES TO ANKAFUL MAXIMUM SECURITY PRISON.
The Ghana Medical Association (GMA), Central Regional Division, in collaboration with the Central Regional Health Directorate, has donated medical supplies to the Ankaful Maximum Security Prison and conducted a health screening exercise for inmates and officers.

The initiative followed an appeal by the facility’s Chaplaincy Unit, led by ADP Rev. Joseph Adobaw-Ogo, in support of the upcoming launch of the Central Regional Prison Medicine and Equipment Bank, scheduled for the 30th September 2026.
A total of 334 inmates were screened for various conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, BMI, skin, eye, ENT, dental and psychiatric conditions.

Receiving the supplies, the Regional Commander DDP Joseph Asabre expressed appreciation to the GMA for the timely support.

Speaking to Onua TV, the Central Regional PRO, CSP David Nyabiire Apusigah, appealed to philanthropists, NGOs, religious bodies, corporate organisations and other stakeholders to support the Service’s healthcare agenda and contribute to a safer correctional system.
