DOP. ASAMOAH FENNING RETIRES

A church service ceremony has been held today, January 17, 2025, at the Prisons Interdenominational Church, Cantonments for the outgoing Director of Prisons in charge of Operations, Mr. Robin Asamoah Fenning.

DOP. Asamoah Fenning began his career as Prisons officer at the Sunyani Central Prison and also served at the Ahinsan Camp Prison, Duayaw Nkwanta Camp Prison, Kumasi Central Prison and the Awutu Camp Prison.
His leadership roles included being the Officer in Charge of the James Camp Prison, Sunyani Central Prison, Kumasi Central Prison and the Ankaful Maximum Prison.

In 2024, he was posted to the Prisons Headquarters where he assumed the role of the Director in charge of Technical. Subsequently, the Operations Directorate was added to his portfolio, which he oversaw from 2024 until his retirement.
His achievements included initiating and securing funding for the establishment of a shoe-making factory. He spearheaded the construction and completion of a clinic at the barracks at the Sunyani Central Prison.

At the Kumasi Central Prison, he successfully converted 20- seater water closets into biogas systems, showcasing environmental sustainability. DOP. Fenning spearheaded the construction of a
reception office adjacent to the mess.

DOP. Asamoah Fenning was born on March 1, 1965. He is a man of diverse interest, he enjoys music, farming and walking. He is happily married and blessed with three children.
The outgoing Director of Prisons, Mr. Asamoah Fenning served the Ghana Prisons Service and Mother Ghana for 32 years, 4 months and 17 days.

The Director General, members of the Prisons Directorate and the entire staff of the Ghana Prisons Service celebrate and congratulate DOP. Robin Asamoah Fenning for his dedication, exemplary service and unwavering commitment and wish him a fulfilling and well – deserved retirement.
