DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF PRISONS ATTENDS 3RD GHANA HORTICULTURAL EXPO 2026
The Director-General of the Ghana Prisons Service, Mrs. Patience Baffoe-Bonnie (Esq.), has attended the 3rd Ghana Horticultural Expo 2026 in Accra, where the Service showcased farm produce from its correctional facilities.
The Expo brought together stakeholders in agriculture, agribusiness and horticulture to promote Ghanaian agricultural products, value addition and market access.
The Ghana Prisons Service exhibited produce cultivated across its correctional facilities, highlighting agriculture’s role in inmate rehabilitation, skills development and reintegration.
The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry and Member of Parliament for Techiman North Constituency, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare (Mrs.), who represented the President, called for increased agricultural production, value addition and improved competitiveness of Ghanaian products locally and internationally.
Dr. Ishmael Nii Tei Dodoo, Chief Partnership Officer for Export Development under the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Secretariat, said the initiative seeks to support farms, factories, logistics and service providers to improve productivity.
The Chief Executive of the Tree Crops Development Authority, Dr. Andy Osei Okrah, stressed the need to improve agricultural productivity and strengthen the value chain.
The Expo provided exhibitors with opportunities to showcase products, build partnerships and explore markets.
The participation of the Ghana Prisons Service reaffirmed its commitment to agriculture, rehabilitation and equipping inmates with skills for sustainable livelihoods.
