DGP PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO GBC

The Director-General of the Ghana Prisons Service, Mrs. Patience Baffoe-Bonnie (Esq.), on Tuesday, 8th September, 2026, paid a working visit to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) in Accra to seek support and partnership for the upcoming launch of Ghana Prisons Television.

During the visit, Mrs. Baffoe-Bonnie was welcomed by the Director-General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, Prof. Amin Alhassan . She toured the Corporation’s facilities, including the newsroom and studios. She was subsequently interviewed, where she spoke about the three tiers under the Think Prisons 360° initiative; Preventive, Incarceration and Reintegration, and the launch of the Ghana Prisons Television.

Responding, Prof. Amin Alhassan said GBC is open to supporting the Ghana Prisons Service in its rebranding and transformation agenda. He reiterated that GBC is willing to partner with the Service and offer training opportunities for officers, particularly in the area of broadcasting and media production, to enhance the operations of Ghana Prisons Television.

The visit ended with both institutions reaffirming their commitment to strengthen their collaboration.

Also present was the Director of Prisons in charge of Agriculture, Mr. Kwaku Ali Ababio.
