INMATES RECEIVE FREE HEALTH SCREENING AT THE KUMASI CENTRAL PRISON

A team from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital provided inmates at the Kumasi Central Prison with free medical and dental screenings on March 20, 2026, as part of the Eid Al-Fitr outreach.

The team led by Dr. Isaac Akotoye, provided oral health checks and distributed toothbrushes and paste.

Subsequently, students from Royal Ann College of Health and CAC University also visited the facility testing inmates for Hepatitis, Typhoid, Syphilis and H. Pylori. The exercise also included 23 female inmates from Kumasi Female Prison.

Superintendent Stephen Kumah, receiving the teams on behalf of the Officer-In-Charge, thanked the volunteers. The dental outreach coincided with World Oral Health Day.
