GHANA PRISONS SERVICE DONATES TO THE CHILDREN’S WELFARE CLINIC OF THE POLICE HOSPITAL.

The Ghana Prisons Service has donated essential items to the Children’s Welfare Clinic at the Police Hospital in Accra to contribute to child healthcare and welfare.

The donation was carried out by staff of the Prisons Headquarters. A cleanup exercise was also organized within the hospital premises to promote hygiene and create a healthier environment for patients.

The team was led by the Commanding Officer of the Ghana Prisons Service DDP. Edward Ashun.

Presenting the items on behalf of the Director-General and staff of the Prisons Headquarters, DDP Ashun noted that the donation was intended to support the nutritional needs of patients, especially children, mothers, and newborns. He emphasized that the inclusion of fruits was particularly important in helping replenish essential vitamins for patients in recovery.

Receiving the donation, the Medical Director of the Hospital, Commissioner of Police Samuel Otu Nyarko expressed gratitude to the Ghana Prisons Service on behalf of the hospital’s management, staff, and patients. He noted that the items would provide vital nourishment and comfort to beneficiaries at the facility.

According to him, collaboration between institutions like the Police Service and the Prisons Service is essential, and must be strengthened to prevent division.

He concluded on a light note, referencing Oliver Twist to suggest that the hospital would always welcome continued support.
